Smoke on the Coast BBQ and Fireworks Festival
The 9th Annual Smoke on the Coast BBQ & Fireworks Festival takes place Wednesday, July 3 at Destin Commons and this year is expected to be bigger and better than ever! Family fun activities include live music and entertainment, BBQ sampling, face painting, photo booth, and the highly anticipated, Independence Day firework extravaganza. Through the Destin Commons Coins for a Cause initiative, 18 local charities team up with various restaurants and BBQ aficionados, for over $85,000 in donations.
5:00 p.m.: Family entertainment and live music by Forrest Williams Band
5:30 p.m.: BBQ lovers can enjoy $1 samples from 18 area restaurants and BBQ groups and vote for their favorite as People’s Choice winners.
7:00 p.m.: Heritage Band performance
9:30 p.m.: Independence Day firework extravaganza
This annual event may only be one day per year, but collecting coins and organizing the most anticipated event of the Summer takes more than time, it takes a village of yearly contributions raised by those in the local community who “plug the meters” at Destin Commons.

Digital Graffiti at Alys Beach is a one-of-a-kind projection art festival where artists from across the globe use the latest digital technologies to project their original works onto the iconic white walls of Alys Beach.
Sometimes referred to as “Photon Bombing,” “Guerilla Projection” or “Urban Projection,” underground artists around the globe have been using the latest design, animation and projection technologies for many years to cast dynamic images onto skyscrapers and other urban structures as a means of artistic expression. Digital Graffiti at Alys Beach is a festival geared towards bringing these artists together in one place to celebrate and showcase their unique talents.
Each year, the festival attracts digital artists, filmmakers, musicians, interactive designers, photographers, VJs, producers, celebrities, agency executives and fans of art, technology and architecture. Thousands of dollars in cash prizes are awarded to artists, with digital submissions being received from as far away as Israel, Austria, Canada, Germany, London, India, France, Italy and China.
You won’t want to miss this beautifully unique projection art festival where artists project their original works onto the iconic white walls of Alys Beach, transforming the entire resort town into a living work of art!
Now in its 13th year, this 2-day festival attracts digital artists, filmmakers, musicians, interactive designers, photographers, VJs, producers, celebrities, agency executives and fans of art, technology and architecture. This year’s awards will include Best of Show ($5,000 prize), Curator’s Choice ($2,000 prize) and three Special Recognition honors (at $1,000 prize each), selected by the Digital Graffiti’s curator Brett Phares and esteemed panel of judges.
The 2020 festival will take place Friday May 15th, 8-11pm and Saturday May 16th, 6-11pm. Tickets on sale March 16
Annual BoJamz Music and Arts Festival
The 7th Annual BoJamz Music and Arts Festival on the Destin Harbor takes place March 29, 2020, at Boshamps Seafood and Oyster House. Gather for this one-day festival, which features live music, a silent auction, and huge community crawfish boil.

There is a suggested donation at the entrance of $10. Funds raised at the event will go toward the Wright Fight for Cystic Fibrosis to help find a cure for Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections that limits breathing ability over time.

Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) presents the annual 25th annual Festival of the Arts October 24 & 25 for an entire weekend of art, music, food and fun for everyone. The area’s premiere fine arts festival takes place at the MKAF Cultural Arts Village in Destin, Florida.

Celebrating 25 years, the two-day signature event features art exhibits of more than 100 artists from across the US and Europe showcasing a diverse palette of artistic styles in different art mediums. Beyond the visual arts, the Festival will feature two days of continual live music, a sampling of the local culinary arts scene and a beer & wine garden. Entertaining street performers, lively art drawings and the sale of colorful keepsake souvenirs — all create a family-friendly festival feel.
The 2020 Festival of the Arts brings an arts-packed weekend filled with new and old traditions during the most beautiful time of year on the Emerald Coast of Florida. Festival fans can relax and dine alfresco with table seating while listening to the stellar music line up taking to the stage.

The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) is a non-profit member and volunteer organization that has inspired over 320,000 children in over 70 schools, and United Way agencies including children with special needs and wounded warriors.
